Add your domain name

Do you already have your own TPOP store (mystore.tpopsite.com for example) and want to take it to the next level?

With a personalized domain name, you can increase your reputation at low cost.

The domain name option is available with the PLUS subscription.

In order to transform mystore.tpopsite.com in mystore.com, you'll need to carry out what's known as a DNS modification.
It's a technical operation that may seem complex, but it's not.

What are dns?

DNS is like an address book for the Internet. When you type in a web address, DNS translates that address into an IP address, a bit like a phone book translates names into phone numbers. The whole Internet is based on IP addresses, so this allows you to "point" your tpopsite store to your own domain name.

The procedure to follow

1. Enter the domain name you wish to use

Enter your own domain name, the one you have ordered from an external operator.
Enter only the domain name, no https:// or www.

2. DNS modification

You'll need to add / modify 2 dns zones with your provider (where you bought your domain name).

Their technical names :

CNAME zone
A zone

Depending on the supplier, the procedure is different: here are the procedures explained for the main suppliers:

- Cloudflare
- Gandi
- GoDaddy
- Namecheap
- OVH

If you're using Cloudflare, make sure that the Cloudflare proxy is deactivated for all the DNS records we ask you to add, and that the cloud icon is not orange .

For the CNAME, some providers require a dot to be added at the end of the address (shops.tpopsite.com).

It can take up to 24 hours for your registrations to be validated, so don't panic if your domain isn't accessible during this time.

3. Confirmation of change

Once your DNS registrations have been confirmed, you need to validate the domain name change, which allows us to completely reconfigure your store, with great care and love.

4. SSL generation

This step is automatic and can take up to ten minutes: it enables you to generate your SSL certificate. In simple terms, the SSL certificate is the padlock visible in the address bar, which secures your store and all transactions.
